It's been 28 years since a Nintendo-themed cereal has existed. The last was the Nintendo Cereal System, which had a solid four year run before it was discontinued in 1989.

Well, get ready to relive an important childhood experience. Nintendo and Kellogg's have teamed up to bring happiness to the mouths of Super Mario fans. A Super Mario cereal has been developed to promote Super Mario Odyssey, a 3D platform video game for the Nintendo Switch.
According to a Nintendo press release, the cereal box is also an amiibo. It's features will let Super Mario Odyssey players "receive gold coins or a heart in the game."

The cereal has a mixed berry flavor and is full of colorful power-up marshmallows. So, basically it's Lucky Charms with a Super Mario twist.
If you're kids are into Super Mario and breakfast, they're going to love the new limited-edition cereal. Sure, it's loaded with sugar and probably has very little nutritional value. But let's not forget all the sugary cereal you ate when you were a kid, and you still turned out pretty OK.
The cereal will begin hitting store shelves across the U.S. on December 11th.
